Michelle left for the MTC in Guatemala on May, 28, 2013. She flew out of Guadalajara to Los Angeles, where she had a 9 hour layover before taking the 12:30 a.m. (which was 2:30 a.m. in Mexico) flight to Guatemala City. She said when she went through security, one of the TSA workers asked her if she were a Jew--due to the fact she was dressed so modestly.
She arrived in Guatemala City at 6:00 a.m., and went straight to the MTC.
This is the first note we received from her.
Hola mis padres! Yo estoy en la CCM and I love it! It is so so great! I have the best companera en todo el mundo y we will know toda la lengua de Espanol by tomorrow, if not tonight. Estoy muy cansada pero they let us have a little siesta. I told the mission president that I need to be set apart and he is talking to the area president or something, but he is aware of the situation. He also knows Grandpa Kenyon. How fun! Except I thought he was talking about Uncle Ken. I have to go, Love you both!
